Purpose:

The purpose of this job is to manage the day-to-day receiving and counting of stock inventory within the inventory parameters of the stock system. This includes managing the flow of stock from the receiving department in respective departments in the store, ensuring that accurate stock records are maintained at all times. In addition this includes ensuring the stock system used and investigate issues that arise in such a manner it ensure the continuous availability of stock.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure company rules and regulations and provide training as well as guidance thereon, i.e. supplier/customer etiquette.
  • Develop, mentor and evaluate staff. Continuously ensure S.O.P’s are adhered to. Assign staff to specific areas and duties and provide instructions as well as resources to staff when delegating responsibilities to ensure successful completion of tasks.
  • Conduct staff meetings to raise enthusiasm and discuss team performance and opportunities for improvement. Keep record and submit to Department Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for Corrective actions and disciplining of associates when work does not meet expectations.
  • Ensure in the mornings availability and working condition of all equipment for the department and that it is maintained accurately and regularly i.e. trolleys; hyster operator and lift. Immediately report fault within 30 minutes to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Complete all necessary stock takes.
  • Maintain stock levels through daily cycle counts and auditing.
  • Maintain a storeroom and the allocation of space for stock. Ensure that the storeroom meets OHS regulations.
  • Daily maintain store/merchandising standards as described in our merchandising standards manual; this includes stock management, cleaning, shelf/stock presentation.
  • Plan and prepare work schedules, daily registers and time & attendance of staff, including leave queries, manage overtime.
  • Regularly review and monitor staff’s timekeeping and discipline accordingly. Keep records.
  • Ensure that weekly and monthly reports are handed in to your superior.
  • Assist in compiling CFC’s / transfer error and shrinkage reports.
  • Ensure all stock is accurately received and counted
  • Spot checks on stock counts and stock received and captured
  • Perform any work-related tasks as delegated by Superior.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric or equivalent
  • Brights Induction (Service Excellence)
  • Brights Leadership Training completed
  • Intermediate level merchandising certificate
  • 2 Years minimum experience in a similar role
  • 2 Years’ experience as a Stock Controller
  • 3 Years’ experience in the hardware environment
  • Must have previous experience in a Stock department
  • Ability to issues disciplinary action & Initiate in a Disciplinary Enquiry
  • Internal procedural knowledge
  • Product and Stock Management knowledge
  • Customer service experience and proven Leadership skills
  • Planning, time management & organising skills
  • Monitoring & evaluation skills
  • Ability to handle pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
  • Ability to act professional and maintain confidentiality
  • Personnel management: Ability to organise and time manage stuff
  • Microsoft office (Internet, E-mails, Word & Excel)

Job Description

 The purpose of this job is to ensure that service standards are met and that customer issues are resolved; this can be achieved through accurate checking of invoices. This will result in securing that an actual item purchased corresponds with the customers receipt, in order to avoid losses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reconcile invoice/cash slip by counting & measuring, with goods.
• Reconcile transfer slips by counting & measuring with goods.
• Reconcile delivery notes by counting and measuring with goods..
• Upkeep of error report book
• Report discrepancies to Management.
• Participate in perpetual stocktakes
• Ensure housekeeping of work area according to company standards
• Perform any work related tasks as delegated by Superior

REQUIREMENTS:
• Matric or x3 Completed Intercept courses equating to total of 120 credits
• Grade C in security
• 2 years previous experience in a similar role
• Brights Induction (Service excellence)
• Internal Procedural knowledge
• Ability to take on responsibility, be diligent & handle pressure
• Ability to work independently as well as in team
• Perform duties in an effective and efficient manner
• Product and department knowledge
• Interpersonal skills
