Job overview
Working with the Group wide Transformation Team, this is a key role in the development and delivery of the trust’s transformation programme.
The post holder will support a number of projects across the trust, providing support for project management and coordinating communication and project deliverables across their allocated programme of work.
They will provide support to the programme of work successfully engaging with key stakeholders, supporting programme leads, tracking plans for project delivery, and supporting implementation.
This will include managing projects from inception to completion and supporting the programme leads in developing medium to long term strategies that impact across the Trust and the wider sector.
Success in the role will rely on collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns effectively.
The post-holder will be expected to work autonomously ensuring appropriate prioritisation of workload to ensure completion of projects within agreed timescales.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide operational support on key workstreams across transformation, ensuring schedules and progress are on track throughout the planning and implementation of the programme.
- To support other key stakeholders by organising workshops and meetings to ensure stakeholder buy-in throughout the programme.
- To support the development and execution of a comprehensive communication plan.
- To track and monitor financial and non-financial benefits for designated projects
- To be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner.
- Maintain the project initiation document and associated plans with regular reporting and team meetings to monitor progress and resources.
- Ensure public and patient involvement through the programme life cycle, building a productive working relationship with the organisation’s patient and public representatives.
- To maintain a good communication strategy is in place for key work programmes
- To contribute to and maintain governance and performance requirements.
- To organise numerous events/meetings, ensuring communication tools are used to their maximum value for circulating the minutes, agenda and presentations in a timely manner.
- To demonstrate an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree level qualification or relevant experience
Desirable criteria
- Formal Programme and/or Project management training (eg. PRINCE2 or similar)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in partnership with operational and clinical leaders
- Experience of delivering improvement and efficiency plans
- Experience of working on complex projects through to delivery
Desirable criteria
- Experience of collaborative working across the healthcare system
- Experience in health care improvement working at or above Band 5
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the current health system within South West London and Surrey, the aims and aspirations of the organisation and current relevant national health policy
- A good understanding of the requirements of continuous quality and cost improvement within provider settings
Skills
Essential criteria
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable dealing with financial information, including a working knowledge of NHS financial processes.
- Experience of supporting complex projects
- Skilled communicator and negotiator; provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information
- Experience in the application of Service Improvement methodologies
